Why are you jumping on a synonym of occasionally. Periodically is a commonly used word in the English language. Just because a woman has a period does not mean that the word only refers to that biological function. The great thing about the English language is that some words have mutiple meanings, which allows for great literature and so on. I use a period at the end of most of my sentences, does that mean that I'm insulting women with those sentences? Of course not. It seems like you're trying to drum up a false controversy just to get people riled up and further a divide. We can debate on serious topics or we can debate on the inane. I choose serious topics; how about you?
If you are going to claim that you only go the high road of choosing serious topics, then I recommend you not jump in with comments about who congratulated whom and how many times.
